Gilmore Girls workout

I took my workout gear with me to work today so that afterwards I could go to back to the gym.

I know you think 2 trips to the gym in one day, this woman must be crazy. I really don't think I'm crazy, I just didn't get to work out as long as I wanted this morning and so we were going to go back.

Side note: Brother in law called on my way to the gym, wanting to know if he could come over to play playstation today. His older brother, my hubby ,said "we'll see" not realizing he meant today. Which means I had to break it to the 5 year old that there would be no incredibles game playing today. He broke out into a tantrum on the phone. I hung up. He called back a minute later and sat on the phone not saying anything then his sister got on the phone to say he was sorry.

We got the gym about 5:15 and it was pretty empty or at least the cardio machines seemed empty. I found an eliptical machine open right by at tv with headphone capabilty and got ready to go. I thought I would watch crap reality shows on MTV. Then I realized that the TV had family channel and I could watch Gilmore Girls reruns. So off I went. It was an episode from 2 seasons ago or last season right before the inn opened, the one where they sleep outside with the zucchini, and luke asks Lorelai to his sister's wedding. I realize now that working out goes a lot faster when accompanied by good tv.
I worked out for 35 minutes, 4500 strides, 430 calories burned.

We then headed home. I am mall walking in the morning.
Off to play a bit of playstation before prison break.


I've sneezed at least 10 times today at work. It leads me to believe I need to refill my allergy prescription soon. I just checked and it looks like the tree pollen is the issue. For those of you who don't know me that well you may be unaware that I am the queen of outdoor allergies. My allergies include, dust, mold, weeds, trees, most flowering plants and grass.

I am now slightly worried that my allergies are going to affect my ability to run outside this spring.

Funny Phone Calls

My 5 year old brother in law J has been calling me randomly. I had told him that he could call me if he needs someone to talk to. Well so he called me last tuesday wanting to know if he could spend the night. I told him that he couldn't this week but maybe we could do something else since he has been such a good boy. We decided on dinner, he then asked if his sister had to come with him. I said do you want her to , he said no.

So our date was planned. Then Thursday I get another phone call making sure we were still going to take him to dinner. We then talked about random things, like how he hurt his head by running into the wall, about school and other things.
He hung up and called back a minute later to tell me to tell my sister Hi.

I found out later that he sneaks and gets my phone number off the fridge and goes to his mom's room to call me. Which is funny.

Monday Treading

Woke up relatively on time to go run at the gym this morning. The treadmills were pretty empty so I found one relatively quickly and got started. 5 minute warm up...check. schedule for today 2.5 miles running. I set the treadmill up and started running at 4.2 miles per hour. My blister is starting to heal pretty well, the skin is starting to come back. I still haven't found a bandaid that stays on well while running, but have gotten used to just changing it after.
Back to the run, I realized I need to take off some music off of the shuffle, as i always skip by certain songs because they are too slow. The first 10 minutes or so felt really good, found a rhythm. After that was touch and go, it wasn't my blister, but I couldn't find my right rhythm and just felt weird. I managed to increase my speed to 4.4 which might have been the problem, since that made things feel better. I also think TV is a good distraction. 1 mile time , 13.37...keep going don't give up....1.25 miles still going.....getting tired though....1.5 miles in 21 minutes, I ran for another minute or so and then I was getting tired and slowed to a walk. The walk lasted about 2 minutes and then I ran again for about 2 minutes and then walked a minute and ran for about 3 minutes at which point I had to stop to go to work so I walked a bit and left the treadmill.

Total time on treadmill 35 minutes plus cooldown
Total distance ran 2 miles (1.5 miles straight and then walk ran the rest).

Goal for next run to run 2 miles and then walk run to hit 2.5

I got to work on time, and brought in the rest of the peanut butter cookies, since keeping them in the house is a bad idea.

I watched Capote last night and did jiggle proof my arms workout and squats and crunches for about 35 minutes while watching the movie.
The movie was very good.

Have my gym clothes packed to go after work for about 30 minutes tops.
