Thursday on the treadmill

We decided to head to the gym for our run this evening due to the heat. It has been in the 80s here with 100% humidity. The humidity alone was enough to wreck havoc on my allergies this morning. I almost didn't go to work.

So needless to say, I knew we weren't running outdoors. I wasn't even sure how I would do indoors. We originally planned on running on the treadmill for an hour, with the idea that if we wanted to stop sooner we could.

I ended up not doing any routine at all , just running when it felt right and walking when it didn't. After 11 minutes on the treadmill I realized that i really had to go to the bathroom and it wasn't something I could forget about , as I thought earlier. So I stopped the machine and headed downstairs to the bathroom. As a result I lost 2 minutes off my workout time.
Those first 11 minutes I had only gone .7 miles, so I wasn't going very fast at all.
I got back on and reset my machine for the remainder of the workout. I was trying to watch tv while on the treadmill, which I obviously haven't mastered since I kept feeling I like I was going to fall of the machine. I settled in and ran for a while and then got tired and walked. This went on and on. About 25 minutes in to the second segment of my workout, my husband asked how it was going. I said I didn't think I wanted to be there an hour, so we decided to switch to 45 minutes. The last ten minutes I tried a few short segments at a fast speed and the would settle into a steady run. Overall I think it went well, I much prefer running outside , but I doubt that will happen often unless I run in the early morning.
