I am a bad person

This morning on my way to work, I walked by the rock. I have noticed that since the return of the students this fall , that the rock is often newly painted almost every morning. In fact in recent weeks, there has been small splatters of wet paint on the sidewalk.
So I wasn't surprised as I hiked up hill street this morning to see two frat boys returning from their rock painting expedition with folding chairs under their arms, no doubt used to sit in while guarding their creation.

Seeing them I knew to be extra watchful of what was most likely ahead. As I reached the corner of the rock, I saw full slaps of sidewalk painted bright pink. The paint was still wet and glimmering in the morning sun. I proceeded to hike across the grass avoiding the paint and waited for the light to change at the corner. It was there that I noticed a woman across the street, A sorority girl to be more accurate. She had on designer sunglasses, a pink shirt, brown skirt, flip flops and a bag proclaiming her affinity to some sorority. She was listening to her ipod. As I crossed by her on the street, I thought to warn her..."Look out of the paint" , but she didn't look up or even attempt to acknowledge my passing. (keep in mind, I live in a friendly midwestern college town, where people usually look at you and smile as they pass by in the morning, even the runners) ... I thought I should really say something....but I didn't ..I thought she like me would look where she was going and avoid the paint.

I continued the last block and a half to my office. Passing by a few kids on bikes on their way to elementary school, and across the final street to my office. I completedly forgot about the paint and the girl, as there were four eight year old kids attempting to bike up the hill in front of my office and I wanted to avoid having one fall on me. As the kids passed, I noticed a girl across the street out of the corner of my eye. She was running, but she wasn't a runner, I thought to my self don't bother running, you already missed the bus. And then I looked again, and noticed it was the same girl from earlier....only now she had paint all over her back side (shirt and skirt) at first glance I thought it was ty-dyed , but then i realized what had happened. She must have not noticed the paint on the sidewalk and slide across it and fell on her butt. She ran a bit further and then franticailly tried to ring the door bell of the sorority across the street from my office. Eventually someone let her in. As I walked to my office, I couldn't help but laugh....

You aren't so bad! It wasn't like you didn't tell her on purpose because you thought she would fall! How could you not notice pink sidewalk, though?

The sidewalk is actually multicolored due to the fact that so many people have painted it over the years. ..but it was bright bright pepto pink.

OMG that's funny! Well... not really funny for her but I think she should have smiled and gave you a little head knod as she passed. You're not a bad person. NOW, if you were to have PUSHED her into the paint... you would be a "bad person"... but it still would have been funny. =)
